"The lid stay should come with a jig that would allow you line up the drill points for depth and alignment."
"They work better than not having stays and I would buy again. I do wish they restricted the lid from opening past 90 degrees so even when empty the case wouldnt flip backwards. But at least the lid isn’t closing on any fingers."

"We are using the excellent Pelican iM-3100 long case as the carapace of a portable, all band, voice and digital EmComm field station. ,, which includes a 24"" 12 VDC monitor and a 40 Ah LiFePO4 battery. The Lid Stays allow the top of the case to securely lock open at 90 degrees. . . where it serves as a sun and wind shield for the monitor. Installing the two Lid Stays was actually fun because locating and marking the four holes for drilling to accept the pop rivets required some skill to accomplish precisely.
