"The case mount requires a little bit of patience to install. PROS it very secure, lockable CONS once it’s installed I would leave it. To reposition it to another location on a roof rack takes effort for people who use it seasonally between say ski season and surf season. If you have either one of those hobbies you will understand as every bit of roof space it critical that requires seasonal adjustments. For that 4. 5 stars due to my specialty needs. Everybody else you will be fine"
"Solid, watertight, attractive, functional. Pelican attachment hardware makes it very secure, lockable and tight. I knew it going in, but its lean on volume. . . and as others have noted, the attachment hardware is spendy. It only gets a 4 of 5 because the price to volume ratio when you include the mounting hardware is so durn high, otherwise its a great roof box."

"You know what to expect from pelican, the bx140r met those expectations every step of the way. Our first trip was 2,300 miles from Washington to Michigan through heavy rain and thunderstorms at well over 70 mph and not a drop of water got inside. It took a lot of stress out of the trip knowing our gear was well protected. Now I can enjoy vacation and Father’s Day. Cheers."
"Easy to mount and unmount the case"
"Only compatible with prinsu-like racks. They make you by hardware for tubular racks separately. And it’s only truly compatible with tubular racks where the tubes are perpendicular to the length of the car. Otherwise no way to open the case. I ended up doing a halfway job pf getting the mount on, but it’s not straight and turns if the case isn’t mounted. Great product if you have a prinsu rack."
"The box is ok. Just ok. When I received the box, in February when it was cold out, I unboxed the box and the immediately noticed the lid was saggy. The lid is not built thick enough to support its own weight. Hopefully this doesn’t cause the corners to buckle and leak. The lock design on the box lid is very poor. No lock, worth having, will fit any of these lock holes due to the lock holes being recessed. Unfortunately the only tiny less than ideal lock I could find could likely be broken into easily. Frustrating. Would not recommend, until improvements are made."
