"Love this cooler! This is my 4th Pelican cooler (also have the 8, 20 and 65) and by far my favorite. The wheels are a game changer and I love the redesigned look of the Elite series. The 45 fits perfectly under the aftermarket rear cargo shelf in my Jeep Wrangler. This will now be the cooler I use the most. Super tough product and hold ice forever. Love it!"
"My go to! Much better latches than Yedi."
"I bought the 45QW Elite Wheeled Cooler as my first Pelican product. Reviews say it is robust and is well insulated. My wife took it on a cross country trip. It does seem well insulated and kept things cool from day to day when traveling between locations. It is robust as my 350 lbs father-in-law can sit on it without concern for issues. It was easy to clean and drained water well. The clasps seem robust and we had no issues with them and my 6 year old daughter could easily work them. The handle for rolling it is sturdy as well as the incorporated handles on the sides to pick it up. A few detractors include its weight. It is heafty to pick up even empty. My wife can pick it up into and out of an SUV trunk but states it is probably not for anyone with back problems and refers to it as a ""2-person"" cooler when picking it up. I can manage it by myself but do admit it is heavier than less insutlated coolers but I bought it for its robustness and insulation not weight. The cap for the water drainage hole has a cap that keeps the retention cable on it. We noticed somewhere between Utah and California that this top cap came off. The drain plug is fine and it retains water but now the wire just hangs there. Unfortunately the Pelican store does not sell accessory parts from what I can tell. I would have expected it harder for that part to come apart as we were just moving the cooler into and out of the vehicle or wheeling it to a picnic table for lunches. Overall I would say 4. 8 stars because of the drain plug inconvience. I would buy it again but in about 20-30 years I will no longer be able to pick up up loaded and will have to get a lighter cooler but my hope is this one is still being wheeled around to events and workign well."
"great"
"Its capacity, keeping cool, awesome cooling, nicely sized wheels, are perfect for my needs. Missing a wire rack option (not critical) and the “lift up” tote handle feels weak & flimsy to me. iPhone website compatibility is poor… caused a “double” order for another unwanted cooler due to original order not appearing on webpage. They met expectations for the return process, however still awaiting my refund."
"Got this cooler for my brother for tailgating during the NFL season, and it’s perfect. Keeps everything ice cold and is easy to transport, plus it has a rugged look and comes in good colors."
"Fabulous cooler! Feels made well and the ice will last. There are directions included and you need to follow them for a reason. If you do as they suggest you will definitely get what you expect out of this cooler. Thank you for making a product that works as it should!"
"I did a fair amount of looking at different brands and their different features reviews etc, ultimately I choose Pelican because I love my Pelican rifle cases, the lifetime warranty and last but not least that they are made in the US. When I got it I was bummed over how un polished it looked, there was burrs hanging of the drilled holes etc but again I got it to use it. I filled it with drinks out of a fridge, completely topped it off with ice and went to bed in a hotel room with the air set at 65 degrees, when I woke up there was a good 20% drop in the ice. . I do like the handle, the big wheels and the cap for the drain, however if you pull the cooler over grass it pulls the cap off. This is a huge disappointment and I would not buy again."
"I really love the wheels. It gives me pretty much the same space inside and so much easier to take along with the wheels. Our old one was so heavy to carry around."
